Your lips on my lips, that's a merry merry christmas.

Hello earthlings!

Yes, I'm baaack.

So how was your christmas? (: My christmas was great, although I would say that I preferred my christmas eve.

For this Christmas eve, I spent it with my beloved Hans @ his house!

It was the second time that I brought Hazel to his house, and it seems like the only thing she likes to do there is sleep. All poor Haru (boyfriend's dog) ever wanted was a playmate, and I bet he was thinking like,

"Damn, is this a chihuahua or a pig?"

Well. I would say, she's probably both.

Anyway, We spent the entire day watching Hell's kitchen, and I had dinner with his parents. We then went home to walk our dogs together!

It's really funny how people on the streets are afraid of Haru. At the sight of him, they just shun away.

Oh goodness, he's not gonna eat you.

And there's little Hazel, excited to walk on the streets of Jurong East, peeing on every patch of grass that she can find.

Pffft.

All in all, it was a great day, and I do hope that my boyfriend had enjoyed his christmas present from me. (:

As for christmas, I've gotten a few presents!

First of all, it would be...

FURBYYYY!

It's this talking and dancing furry thing that has no ON/OFF button on it. It simply talks and talks and you know what? It sings. It dances. And it absolutely won't shut up unless it's left alone for 5 minutes. And yes. I requested for it.

It's currently beside me now, and it's tap dancing to the music from my laptop.

Some of us might actually find Furbies scary, because they literally do have a mind of their own.

Who knows? My Furby might actually try to murder me one day when it ends up in the storeroom. But for now, I'm lovin' it.

IT GIGGLES WHEN I TICKLE IT.

But anyway, the second item that I've got would be,

GOD IT'S MY LONG AWAITED ALIEN FIGURE!

It's only 30cm tall, but it's a start to my collection! In my previous posts, I've mentioned that there's this huge Alien head that costs 3K++ that I really want. (': But my boyfriend says that the Aliens scares him.

I got this one from Toy Outpost @ Plaza Sing, they sell a variety of things. From Iphone accessories to Squishies and action figures. Plus, they're having a 10% sale for selected items! I really love going there as they always have new items coming up. But that's only because their items are from their renters, whom pay to rent their lockers.

More Alien Figures... JUST WAIT, I'M COMING FOR YOU!

I've got other christmas presents, but these are the ones that really made my Christmas. Although I must say, that Christmas isn't really about giving. I always feel happy on Christmas Day, presents or not.

But of course, I couldn't help but get these tiny socks as a present for Hazel.

Ain't they cuteee?

Plus they really suit Hazel.

I got them @ the Scape flea, and I even saw booties for dogs. I'm gonna get one soon!

Anddd, that's all for today guys, let's end this post with another unglam picture of my boyfriend, shall we?

I'm sorry darling, I just can't help myself!

Love,
Natalie Ishot

Reasons for writing a blog

Hey Guys!

Today's post is actually for my work assignment (RJ), which requires me to come up with reasons for writing a blog.

So, Leggo!

REASON 1

PUBLICITY

What's that? That is the notice or attention given to someone by the media, or in simpler words, it is public exposure. Some bloggers out there blog to get famous. They want to create a name for themselves and get attention from the public, and some of them do this by starting really controversial topics like Mr Brown.

REASON 2

TO INFLUENCE

In this world, there will be people out there whom would want to influence you with their own beliefs or view points. They would blog about certain things that they feel very strongly of, and this might have an influence on the public. Some bloggers also use their blogs to inspire people. They want their writings to affect people and create change.

An example of such a blogger would be Xiaxue.

She is brutally honest in her blog and she does not bother to hold back her views. As a result, she has attracted many viewers and had even won the 'Most influential blog' award for the NuffNang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2011.

REASON 3

BUSINESS

Business? What business could you actually get from writing, you might question. Well, in this era, blogging can be used for brand or name building. For example, a shares expert may blog about his area of expertise, and share beneficial information in his blog, along with his contact information. If the public finds his information helpful, he would then gain publicity and people would start contacting him for advice. From then on, his business reputation would then grow.

Another example would be blog shopping. Girls whom love to blog shop would definitely know of the site ButteredGun. This blog offers many apparels and it is applicable to order it from them online. By setting up a blog, they have attracted many customers and have also gave them a good shopping experience.

In addition, sites like NuffNang also pays bloggers for holding advertisements in their blogs. An example of such a blog would be my blog! For every time an advertisement is held on my blog, I get paid for it. The more clicks that the advertisement manages to generate, the more money is earned. These days, blogs are also used for quick online profits.

REASON 4

PERSONAL JOURNALS

Last but not least, some of us uses blogging as a online diary. We write about our daily lives, and on certain days where we're moody, we even vent our frustrations on it. We blog about our personal experiences, thoughts and views.

All in all, there are many reasons for blogging, and every blog serves a different purpose!

Anddddd, that is all for my RJ today!

The excuses we make just to give us reasons to frown.

Hi guys.

In case you haven't known, this is my dog.

She looks like a pig, but she's actually a Chihuahua.

I'm not very sure actually. She kinda looks like a cat too. Or a bat.

Whatever she is, she's currently dominating my bottom shelving and I can't seem to bring her away from there.

Every time I try to carry her away, she gives that

But today's topic is not about my dog, or her pouty pouty face.

It's about how to handle quarrels.

You? You are going to teach me on how to handle quarrels when you've problems on your own? Don't kid me.

I'm not kidding you.

All of us have problems of our own, but it's only a matter of whether we want to handle it well or not. These advices that I'm gonna give are not only for you guys, but for myself too.

It's like a mini reminder for me to make the best of whatever I've got.

Soooo, Leggo!

Handling Quarrels 101

Ever felt like a time bomb, just sitting there silently, waiting to explode, and blow up that person you're so angry with to tiny little bite-sized bits?

Yea. Me too.

But you see, no matter how irritating or frustrating they can be, or no matter how loud and tough they might look like, always remember, that they are human too.

Hey. They have feelings.

They're probably as sick and tired of this argument like you are now.

So,

Step 1

Take a step back and calm down.

No. That doesn't mean that you've lost the fight, or that you're a coward. It simply means that you're giving everyone time to think and organize your thoughts.

A simple

'Hey, I'm not sure if this argument is going to get us anywhere, so let's just take time to cool off and think, then we'll talk about this again when we feel better, okay?'

Would be so sufficient.

Did you really think that the person with the loudest voice would win the argument?

Heated arguments and solutions never mix.

With time to cool down, both parties would be able to talk rationally and seek out the best solution.

Also, this would be hard to admit, but at times when we're angry, we don't realize that we've made mistakes. With time to think through, we'd be able to see if we've made any.

And if you did,

Well.

Step 2

Apologize.

That's when ego and pride comes into place.

Most of us find it hard to say sorry. But have we ever asked ourselves,

'Why should it be so hard in the first place?'

Apologizing simply shows that you're matured and brave enough to admit that you're in the wrong, and that you're willing to step up to it. From there on, trust me. The argument vanishes, and what lays there would be so much better than that continuous bickering. But of course, apologizing also means that you'd be willing to do something to make up for it.

Apologizing and ending the dreaded argument, or continuing to squabble for the sake of trying to turn your wrongs into rights?

Weigh your options.

Then comes the question.

'But what if the other party really is in the wrong? Am I supposed to say sorry just to stop this mess too?'

Nope honey, you're not even close.

Don't EVER, EVER, apologize for something that you've never done wrong.

Fuck that 'I'd say that I am sorry because you are more important' shit you've ever read, because they are ridiculous.

Doing that creates this delusion for the other party that what they're doing is right, and trust me, the problem that you're facing would just resurface every now and then.

If the other party really is in the wrong, and they're still sulking and raging,

Then refer back to Step 1.

In the next proper talk, then comes your opportunity to highlight the problem.

But first, always start with apologizing for being rude or hurting their feelings, and telling them that you never meant to start a fight. It gives a neutral start for telling them of what you think went wrong.

In an argument, both parties are always wrong.

And so it take two hands to clap for coming to a solution.

That's all for today.

Heads up,

Whenever my boyfriend and I quarrel and we need to cool down, either one of us would still tell the other I love yous.

'Baby, I don't think this is getting anywhere, can we cool down first? I love you.'

'No matter what, or no matter how pissed off I am, I still love you, alright? I'll never let go of you.'

Step 3

Don't be afraid of telling the other party of how you really feel inside, beneath your many layers of anger and frustration.

Being genuine is the key.

Let's just say, that we got this advice from a very special and married friend of ours.

Goodnight world. (:

Love,
Natalie Ishot
